Tower Gets Its Scars, Brown Derby Its Grapefruit

Well, whaddya know — the Tower of Terror's gettin' struck on purpose! Disney confirmed the facade re-theme, and that purple lightning-scar detailing is now peekin' out from under the Hollywood Tower Hotel scaffolding, wrapping toward a little circular window up top. The ride itself runs normal; expect the scaffolding around into the holidays. Remy's Bite of the Day: the Grapefruit Cake at The Hollywood Brown Derby — the signature dessert of the original 1940s Los Angeles restaurant — $14 on the current menu, and it's an easy order from the patio lounge too. Also new Monday, October 19: teeth, scales, and weathered paint show up on the old Rock 'n' Roller Coaster building as Monstropolis takes shape, plus a Hexed photo op inside the Magic of Disney Animation.
